San Diego Wave FC notched their fourth consecutive road win with a 3-2 victory over the Houston Dash on Friday night at Shell Energy Stadium. Powered by goals from Kenza Dali, Adriana Leon, and María Sánchez, the Wave improved to 7-3-2 on the season.
San Diego set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 17th minute. After a creative build-up, Leon’s cross caused chaos in the box, and Dali capitalized with a clean half-volley from the top of the area. Leon, playing in her 100th NWSL regular season match, then doubled the lead in the 36th minute with a sharp one-touch finish following high pressure and a pinpoint pass from defender Hanna Lundkvist.
Just six minutes into the second half, the Wave extended the lead to 3-0. Dali again played a key role, linking up with Delphine Cascarino to set up Sánchez, who scored her first NWSL header and her first regular season goal for San Diego.
Houston attempted a late rally with a long-range strike from Bárbara Olivieri in the 70th minute and a top-corner rocket from Yazmeen Ryan in the 86th, but the comeback fell short. Despite the Dash’s late push, the Wave held firm to claim another impressive road win.
