The Los Angeles Sparks came up short at home on Tuesday night, falling to the Las Vegas Aces 89-74.
Kelsey Plum led the way for the Sparks with 22 points and eight assists, shooting a flawless 10-of-10 from the free-throw line. Rae Burrell delivered her best performance of the season, scoring a season-high 17 points on efficient 6-of-11 shooting. She also matched her career high with six rebounds and posted a team-best +9 plus/minus rating.
Dearica Hamby, fresh off being named the Western Conference Player of the Week, contributed 15 points on a team-high seven made field goals and added six boards.
Cameron Brink made her season debut, seeing 14 minutes of action off the bench. She tallied five points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block — and looked promising in her first game back since June 18 against the Connecticut Sun, finishing with a +7 rating.
Despite the loss, the Sparks showed flashes of chemistry and depth that could be key as they push into the second half of the season.
