Speak Now

Ive been up on Taylor since she debuted with Tim McGraw and Our Song. And now as Oct 25th approaches and she prepares to release her 3rd studio album Speak Now.  How do you follow up your sophomore album which happened to be the biggest selling album of the last year. Well for starters shes bring back Nathan Chapman who co-produced fearless. and together they produced her first single off of Speak Now Mine which was written by Taylor herself. Not just Mine but she wrote the entire album. She knows how to tap into nervous young adult angst over first love and still make your feet shuffle around while hearing about it. I guess that’s what attracts me to her music is she can take you down memory lane.

When talking about how she came up with “Speak Now,” as a title, she said “that pertains to the album as a concept, and as an entire theme of the record….I write everything that I live, so you’ve got to give yourself a little bit of time to live a lot of things so you can write about a lot of things. My only option is to write about what I’ve been through, what I’ve lived. Thankfully, in the past two years I’ve experienced a lot of things that I’ve been dying to write about.”

Much of it, she said, revolved around “things that I wanted to say in the moment that I didn’t. In life, you have a lot of situations that pop up, and people that come into your life, and sometimes you don’t get to tell them what you wish you would have told them, and this album is my opportunity to do that. Track by track, each song is a different confession to a different person.” I bet one of these confessions is directed towards Kanye..LOL  Either way I’m looking forward to hearing what she has to say.
