St. Jude Country Music Marathon

The St. Jude Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon presented by Nissan recently hosted a Holiday party for over 100 runners and guests. Country artists Jo Dee Messina and Darren Warren performed short sets at the event. Warren, as a young man, battled non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for almost three years of his young life. Darren told the crowd “St. Jude is the best place on earth. They have allowed me to be a father, a husband and to pursue my dreams.”

In addition, Ally Cameron, was on hand with her father, Jon, who gave their touching story about their experiences with St. Jude when Ally was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at age 1. Ally is now 8 years old and cancer free. Jon continues to support the charity thru running and has risen over $30,000 as a St. Jude Hero. He and thousands of Heroes will hit the streets for the 13th running of the race on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Nashville, TN.
