St. Louis CITY SC Ties 1-1 with FC Juárez, Loses in Penalty Shootout

St. Louis CITY SC secured a point in their second Leagues Cup group stage match, ending regulation in a 1-1 draw against FC Juárez before losing 4-1 in the penalty shootout. The teams were scoreless at halftime, but St. Louis took the lead in the second half with a goal from Simon Becher in the 58th minute.

This goal was Becher’s first for CITY SC, assisted by Eduard Löwen, marking his first career Leagues Cup assist. FC Juárez equalized in the 62nd minute. With the score tied 1-1 after 90 minutes, FC Juárez won 4-1 in the penalty shootout to earn an additional point. Both teams will advance to the next round of the Leagues Cup, with St. Louis CITY SC facing the Portland Timbers in the Round of 32 on Friday, August 9 at CITYPARK.
