Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Erickson Lubin Set for Explosive Title Clash on Nov. 8

Undefeated knockout sensation and interim WBC Super Welterweight Champion Vergil Ortiz Jr. (23-0, 21 KOs) will defend his title against top contender Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (27-2, 19 KOs) on Friday, November 8. The bout, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, will stream live worldwide on DAZN beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

The fighters met face-to-face Tuesday at the kickoff press conference at Texas Live in Arlington, hosted by commentator Todd Grisham. Ortiz, a Grand Prairie native, promised to deliver fireworks for his hometown fans, while Lubin, the IBF’s No. 1 contender and a top-10 ranked fighter across multiple sanctioning bodies, vowed to spoil the party with his own knockout power.

The co-main event adds further intrigue as rising lightweight star Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) takes on seasoned former champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz (34-8-1, 15 KOs). Schofield enters fresh off a first-round knockout of Tevin Farmer, while Diaz looks to rebound after a razor-thin loss to former champion Regis Prograis.

With Ortiz and Lubin’s firepower headlining the night, and Schofield vs. Diaz adding depth to the card, fans can expect an action-packed evening of world-class boxing.
