INTERVIEW
Tell us how you got your start.
Started djing from the age of 14. Began online radio at w305.com. Met Big Chuck (President Of Poe Boy Music Group) through the station. Began rocking with Poe Boy ever since and it has taken my career to the next level.
How would you describe your style?
Fashion wise – Upscale Urban to High end fashion. I have gotten a lot of custom gear created for me and I am also a huge sneaker head.
What is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my daughter. She keeps my drive going and keeps me grounded. Without her I would probably have ended up in jail. But my focus has been to become a world class DJ and provide entertainment for people all over the world.
If you could meet any artist in history, who would it be?
Dead or Alive – RIP Pimp C I would have loved to have met him. I still to this day keep his albums in my iPhone. He always was talking that shit to keep a nigga motivated! A rapper alive I would like to meet now and possible work with would have to be Big Sean. I am a huge fan of his work.
Where do you see the future of the music industry going?
The masses always go through trends. Music will always be here as long as humans are alive. Music is what keeps a lot of people going through tough times or celebrating good times. The cd industry might not be here forever,But the music will live forever and continue to be made forever.
When you have been on tour, what do you think has been your wildest show/tour experience?
My wildest tour experience would have to be the Freeport, Bahamas with Ballgreezy when we opened up for 2 Chainz. The energy at that show was insane. Something I will never forget.
Any crazy groupies along the way? Let’s hear it.
Groupies are always along the way. Im single so I’m always up to meeting new friends on the road. But I don’t kiss and tell. So those stories will not come to the public lol.
Where have you always wanted to perform?
I have always wanted to perform overseas in Europe. Never been to that side of the world so I definitely would like to get a chance to perform anywhere in Europe. Hopefully Amsterdam lol hint hint to promoters.
What do you think is the toughest thing about touring/performing that the public might not know about?
Well when your at concerts where there are a bunch of artists performing. The toughest thing to deal with is timing and stage managers. They are usually running around with their heads cut off that they get roused up for everything. All performances don’t start on time and some people can’t handle the pressure. But doing the shows is natural. Also another part of touring is a lot of downtime in places you aren’t familiar with. So sometimes there just isn’t anything to do or you have to be up early to head home or the next city.
Ok, let’s flip it around. What’s about the best thing about touring?
The energy from the crowd and the money isn’t bad either.
Since you are on the up and up, what’s your goal/plan for this year? What about career goals?
Working on a street album this year. Continuous mix tapes dropping throughout the year. And hopefully I can make my through most of these cities this year.
If you weren’t an artist what would you be doing?
I would probably be trying to work on opening my own shoe store and clothing line.
When do you think you will retire from the game?
Not even thinking about that at this point
Final advice for new artists?
Invest in your career and you gotta live this shit point blank period. This music game isn’t a part time job.
