Houston Dynamo FC earned a dramatic 3–2 comeback win over the Portland Timbers on Saturday night at Shell Energy Stadium, scoring three second-half goals—including a historic stoppage-time winner.
Portland struck first in first-half stoppage time when Gage Guerra converted a rebound after Jonathan Bond saved the initial penalty.
Houston responded in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Mateusz Bogusz delivered a cross to Guilherme (footballer), who headed home the equalizer for his third goal of the season. The Dynamo then took the lead in the 77th minute when defender Felipe Andrade fired a low long-range shot into the corner for his first goal of the year in his 2026 debut.
The Timbers quickly responded through Kristoffer Velde in the 80th minute to level the match at 2–2.
Despite going down to 10 men late after Nick Markanich received a red card, Houston found a dramatic winner deep into stoppage time. In the 105th minute, Bogusz latched onto a long pass from Jack McGlynn and fired a right-footed shot off the far post and into the net for his first Dynamo goal—one of the latest game-winning goals in MLS history.
Bond finished the night with six saves to help secure the victory.
Houston now heads on the road to face in-state rivals FC Dallas on March 21 in the first Texas Derby of the season.
