Women En Blanc Honors

Shea Moisture’s Women En Blanc Honors was a notable weekend highlight

(New Orleans, LA) The 2023 4th of July weekend was a celebration of all things Black and Brown in New Orleans, LA. The three-day weekend was jam-packed with parties, panels, workshops, concerts and celebrity sightings. Insights Marketing hosted multiple parties during the weekend but focused on celebrated the accomplishments of Black women in technology, film & entertainment, politics and more.

Saturday morning was dedicated to the leadership and global accomplishments of women, as over 300 women showed up dressed in all-white to honor eight women exemplifying excellence and leadership over the course of their careers. The all-female band, SLAYED Melodies provided the inspirational soundtrack for the affair as colleagues, guests and peers celebrated each woman. A highlight of the brunch was Sharon Davis accepting the Special Champion tribute posthumously for her sister Candace Waterman, President and CEO of Women in Public Policy.

“I am honored to be celebrated among seven other successful women of Essence by Insights Marketing for using our voices and positions of power, and allowing our light to shine so we can be used to be world changers. This moment reminds me of a saying, ‘I am my ancestors wildest dreams’ made famous by New Orleans native, Brandon Odums, a visual artist, activist and filmmaker. I am grateful that my Dad and stepmom will be present to witness this moment along with my children so they can see that they can do anything they put their mind to,” said honoree Tiffany Johnson, Global Head of Diversity Equity & Inclusion Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Shea Moisture’s Taydra Mitchell Jackson presented a check to the New Orleans based Love in Action Outreach, a non-profit dedicated to providing food, clothing and resources to families in need. The check was graciously received by Executive Director Gail Womack Murray and will be used for their new location. Aikisha Holly and Sophia O. Williams (So Gucci) from OWN’s Belle Collective, along with Bossip’s Managing editor Dani Cannada and blogger Kiwi the Beauty were in attendance as well.

“I’m humbled every year that our events are celebrated, and people continuously show up to appreciate what we bring to the weekend,” says Insights president Keshia Walker. “I don’t take for granted that our sponsors Shea Moisture, Smirnoff, Sysco and more trust us to create activations for them to connect with community and create memorable experiences for anyone that attends. Most importantly, we’re able to give back to the New Orleans community so we really are partying and celebrating for a much bigger cause. This year was great, and we look forward to returning in 2024.”
