Red Card, Late Goal Sink Houston in Back-and-Forth Battle

Houston Dynamo FC fell 4–3 to FC Dallas in a wild, back-and-forth match on the road.

Dallas jumped out to an early 2–0 lead behind two quick goals from Logan Farrington, putting Houston on the defensive early. But the Dynamo responded in explosive fashion, scoring three goals in just five minutes late in the first half—a rare feat in Major League Soccer history.

Guilherme started the comeback with a goal off a defensive mistake, then assisted on goals by Erik Sviatchenko and Lawrence Ennali to give Houston a 3–2 lead heading into halftime.

Dallas answered in the second half, tying the game after a VAR review awarded a goal, then eventually reclaiming the lead late with a close-range finish from Petar Musa.

Houston’s chances took a hit when Sviatchenko was sent off in the 68th minute, forcing the team to play the final stretch with 10 men. Despite strong efforts, including key saves from goalkeeper Jonathan Bond and a late near-equalizer, the Dynamo couldn’t find a fourth goal.

The loss came despite a historic scoring burst and a standout performance from Guilherme, who finished with a goal and two assists. Houston will look to bounce back after the international break when they host Seattle Sounders FC.
