The No. 2-seeded and ninth-ranked University of Michigan women’s basketball team saw its NCAA Tournament journey come to an end Monday night (March 30), falling 77–41 to top-seeded and third-ranked Texas at Dickies Arena.
Despite the loss, the Wolverines cap off a historic season, finishing with 28 wins — tying a program record — and earning the highest NCAA Tournament seed in school history.
Sophomores Olivia Olson and Mila Holloway led Michigan offensively, each contributing 11 points. Olson closed out an impressive sophomore campaign by scoring in double figures in every start this season. Fellow sophomore Syla Swords added eight points in her final start of the year.
The game also marked the final collegiate appearances for seniors Brooke Quarles Daniels, Alyssa Crockett, and Ally VanTimmeren, bringing an end to their contributions to the program.
Michigan concludes its season having rewritten the record books, setting new program marks in total points (2,880), scoring average (82.3 points per game), and Big Ten wins (15). The Wolverines also recorded 17 home victories the second-most in program history highlighted by two NCAA Tournament wins at Crisler Center.
