Nashville SC, Inter Miami Battle to Scoreless Draw in Champions Cup

Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF played to a scoreless draw in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup matchup on lastnight at GEODIS Park. Despite heavy rain and an intense battle between the two MLS rivals, neither side could find a breakthrough, leaving the home-and-away series tied heading into the decisive second leg.

Goalkeeper Brian Schwake delivered another strong performance for Nashville, recording his fourth clean sheet of the season and extending his unbeaten run to 11 starts with the club. Nashville created several scoring chances, with Sam Surridge leading all players with four shots, but Inter Miami’s defense held firm.

For Miami, the attack led by superstar Lionel Messi struggled to break through Nashville’s high press and organized defense. Head coach Javier Mascherano noted that familiarity between the two teams contributed to the stalemate, as both sides effectively disrupted each other’s attacking play.

The result keeps Nashville undefeated in all competitions this season and maintains the club’s unbeaten record in Champions Cup matches at GEODIS Park. With the series level on aggregate, everything will be decided in the second leg on March 18 at Chase Stadium, where the winner will advance to the next round.
